Lake Tahoe - area attractions:

Situated in the High Sierra, Lake Tahoe is where California and Nevada residence come to play.  The lake boarders both California and Nevada - only 4 hrs from the Bay Area and a short 1 hr drive from Reno, Lake Tahoe is a summer and winter wonderland for outdoor adventure.  The Sierra Nevada gets great snow producing long winter ski seasons, sometimes opening Thanksgiving Day Weekend and extending into late Spring Skiing.  Winter sports included skiing, snowboarding, and many other winter sports.  The lake in the summer can be ideal for boating and many other water sport, the lake water is crystal clear blue.  South Lake Tahoe is were you can find many of the major casinos, a few ski resorts and great beaches.  North Lake Tahoe is well know for it’s many world class and smaller ski and snowboard resorts, smaller casinos, and Truckee River where you can fish or go white water rafting.  The following are some of the many outdoor activities for the adventurous at heart.
